My Truth - Not Feeling It...

12 April 2016

I'm not the first and I probably not the last to say 'what happened to the blogging community?'

I remember when I first started VK and I couldn't wait to tell my 10 followers about my day, what I wore and what inspired me.
But now I feel like I can't express how I really feel.
I guess it's a combination of wondering whether I fit in within the new social media bloggers and apprehensive that I wouldn't be accepted.
Every time I want to post a new blogpost I feel disheartened and careless and it's because I'm
not feeling it.

I revamped the blog, purchased a new template designed a new logo and identity ... But I'm still
not feeling it.

I miss the community that inspired me to post. The community which told stories and brought us that inch closer to their lives. That let their readers in and abled us to relate to them on a personal and emotional level.
I miss the virtual friends that I made over the years and the appreciate the the ones who I still keep in contact with but it's still not the same anymore.

I remember how excited I was to log on to bloglovin' and see what my favourite bloggers were talking about, wearing and the sharing of their latest inspiration that would lead my day.
Now. The app is simply an after thought.

VK is an after thought.

I guess what I'm trying to say is I want to enjoy blogging again - I want to read stories and posts that made me fall in love with blogging.

Is that too much to ask?

Am I wrong?

  1. I hear ya loud and clear!
Been toying with quitting blogging altogether but then I changed my mind - I like to see myself and blogs like VK as a welcomed breath of fresh air in this current very cookie cutter bandwagon hopping blogging community.

  2. I definitely get what you're referring here. Half of the posts I click on my BL dashboard turn out to be a either sponsored content or something written so commercially that it's almost of zero literal interest.
But there are some bloggers who actually write and their words bring motivation and fire to my world. There aren't so manu of them. But their blogs still stand out. I hope you get to find your peers once again. Blogging should be fun!!!!

  8. I am sorry you feel this way girl. I am two months old to blogging so I do not have the right to complain.
My advice would be you take a break from reading other blogs.
    Do your own thing.
P.S I just discovered your blog and I love it.
    Cheers,
    T.
